Kwabre East MP Demands clear cut Measures for Economic Growth ahead of 2026 Budget Presentation.

As Ghana’s Finance Minister prepares to present the budget, the Member of Parliament for Kwabre East Constituency, Honourable Onyinah Acheampong Kwasi-Gyamfi is eagerly awaiting government’s policies on revenue generation, expenditure management, and job creation strategies.

The legislator further wants to know government’s measures to boost revenue, given the promise of scrapping of Covid-19 levy.

The government has been

criticized for its handling of the economy, with unemployment and inflation on the rise.

One of the key areas of focus is the 24-hour economy initiative, touted as a job creation engine.

However, with eleven months into the administration, tangible progress is yet to be seen.

“We want to know what concrete steps the government will take to implement the 24-hour economy and create jobs,” said the Kwabre East lawmaker.

“The youth are suffering, and we need action, not just promises,”he decried.

“The Finance Minister must also address the 21 billion expenditure shot and explain how the government plans to manage its finances.

With the IMF program in place, Ghana must meet strict revenue targets and fiscal discipline,”Mr. Onyinah Acheampong Kwasi-Gyamfi indicated.

As the nation waits with bated breath, one thing is clear: the Finance Minister’s budget presentation will be a make-or-break moment for the government’s economic agenda.
