NDC Moves to Reclaim Disputed Parliamentary Seats, Says Asiedu Nketia

The General Secretary of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Mr. Johnson Asiedu Nketia, has disclosed that the party’s administration is actively pursuing legal processes to reclaim parliamentary seats it believes were unlawfully taken from it during 2024 elections.

Speaking on the matter, Mr. Asiedu Nketia said the cases, which are currently before the courts, form part of the NDC’s broader effort to protect the integrity of Ghana’s democratic system.

According to him, the party is determined to ensure that electoral outcomes reflect the true will of the people.

He stressed that the NDC’s actions are not driven by partisan interest alone but by a commitment to strengthening democratic governance in the country.

Mr. Asiedu Nketia noted that addressing alleged electoral injustices through lawful means would serve as a strong deterrent to individuals or groups who may attempt to manipulate future elections.

“The rule of law must prevail in our democracy,” he said, adding that the party remains confident in the judicial process and will continue to pursue all legitimate avenues to seek redress.

“The ongoing court cases are expected to play a significant role in shaping the balance of power in Parliament, as well as setting important precedents for the conduct of future elections in Ghana”, he noted.
