Health Has No Status: YEA CEO Malik Basintale Responds to Public Uproar Over His Condition

The Chief Executive Officer of the Youth Employment Agency (YEA), Malik Basintale, has broken his silence following widespread public discussions and speculation surrounding his health condition, stressing that illness is a reality of human life and not a reflection of authority or competence.

Addressing the growing public uproar, Mr. Basintale reminded Ghanaians that leadership does not exempt anyone from the basic vulnerabilities of being human.

He emphasized that sickness is not selective and should not be used as a basis for judgment or public ridicule.

“We are all human beings, and so long as I have flesh and blood running through my veins, anybody at all can fall sick,” he stated. “It has nothing to do with status or power.”

The YEA CEO explained that health challenges can affect anyone, regardless of position or responsibility, and urged the public to approach such matters with empathy and understanding.

He noted that while public office comes with scrutiny, personal health should be treated with dignity and sensitivity.

The statement has since drawn mixed reactions, with many supporting his call for compassion and others urging restraint in public commentary on personal health issues.

Ultimately, his remarks serve as a reminder that beyond titles and authority, public officials remain human beings subject to the same physical realities as everyone else.
