IGP Promotes 17 Police Officers for Exemplary Service

The Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Mr. Christian Tetteh Yohuno, on January 14, 2026, promoted seventeen (17) police officers, including two (2) senior officers, to their next ranks in recognition of their exemplary conduct, professionalism, and dedication to duty.

The promotions were awarded in appreciation of the officers’ distinguished performance in the discharge of their responsibilities, particularly their commitment to operational excellence, discipline, and service to the nation.

The gesture forms part of the Ghana Police Service’s broader strategy to motivate personnel who demonstrate outstanding commitment, integrity, and professionalism in the line of duty.

Congratulating the officers, IGP Yohuno, together with members of the Police Management Board (POMAB), urged them to regard their elevation as a call to greater responsibility, leadership, and accountability.

He emphasized that promotion within the Service should inspire renewed dedication and a higher standard of service to the public.

The IGP further encouraged all officers of the Service to continue upholding the core values of professionalism, loyalty, and selfless service, noting that excellence and integrity remain key benchmarks for advancement within the Ghana Police Service.

The Service reaffirmed its commitment to recognising merit and rewarding excellence as a means of boosting morale and strengthening effective policing across the country.
