Four suspects have been arrested by the Ashanti South Regional Police Command in connection with a robbery attack on an okada rider at Fomena on 22nd February 2026.
According to police reports, the victim presented himself at the Fomena Police Station with a machete wound to his left toe. He told officers that while returning from Old Ayaase after dropping off a passenger, he was ambushed along a stretch of the road.

The victim alleged that about ten tricycle riders had barricaded the road using their tricycles and other objects. The group reportedly attacked him, inflicted a machete wound on his leg, and made away with his unregistered Haojin motorbike valued at GH¢15,000.
Swift Police Action

Acting promptly on the complaint, officers launched an operation within the Fomena township the same day and arrested four suspects — Adom Peter, Abdul Zakari, Andy Benjamin, and one juvenile — to assist with investigations.
During the operation, police retrieved the victim’s Haojin motorbike, one machete, a tricycle, and its ignition keys, believed to have been used in the commission of the crime.

The Command has assured the public of its continued commitment to safeguarding lives and property. Residents have been encouraged to provide timely and credible information to support ongoing crime prevention efforts.
Investigations are ongoing.
