The management of Ho Teaching Hospital (HTH) in the Volta Region is taking bold steps to transform the facility into a leading medical tourism destination in Ghana.
With plans to enhance its healthcare services, the hospital aims to attract international patients and become a hub for medical tourism in the country.
At the 2024 Performance Annual Review Meeting, Chief Executive Dr. John Tampuori shared the hospital’s vision, despite challenges such as overcrowded wards, rising patient numbers, and increased mortality rates.
He reaffirmed the hospital’s commitment to expanding its services and improving patient care.
Dr. Tampuori discussed the growing demand for services, noting a significant increase in patient visits, as well as the hospital’s efforts to address challenges like bed shortages and staff attrition.
The hospital’s strategic vision includes bolstering its partnerships with both local and international healthcare organizations to improve its offerings.
With government support and continued innovation, HTH is on track to elevate its reputation and capacity, positioning itself as a key player in Ghana’s growing medical tourism sector.
