A 35-year-old mentally challenged man, whose name has only been given as Ali, has murdered a 56-year-old man at the Tema main harbour railway.
Ali reportedly beheaded the victim, who is a caretaker at the yard, in the afternoon on Friday, May 30, 2025.
Information gathered by Nyansaponews suggests Mr. Ali severed the caretaker’s head and carried it around in a bag.
Ali subsequently led personnel from the Tema Regional Police Command to where the headless body was after being arrested.
Eyewitness Isaac Adjei recounted that Ali had lived and worked at the harbour until about two years ago, when he began showing signs of mental instability.
Isaac said they are in a state of shock and yet to come to terms with why Ali will commit such a heinous crime.
Meanwhile, the body has been deposited the mortuary.
