The 13th Anniversary Commemorative Lecture in honour of the late President John Evans Atta Mills will take place on Tuesday, July 22, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. at the Kofi Ohene Konadu Auditorium, University of Professional Studies, Accra (UPSA).
President Mills, Ghana’s third President under the Fourth Republic, passed away on July 24, 2012, becoming the first sitting Ghanaian president to die in office.
The year 2025 marks thirteen years since his passing.
To commemorate his legacy and uphold the values he championed—integrity, transparency, accountability, and servant leadership—the J.E.A. Mills Memorial Heritage is organizing this special anniversary lecture under the theme:
“Atta Mills: A Case Study for the Fourth Republic.”
The Keynote Speaker for this year’s event is Mrs. Charlotte Osei, Esq., a respected legal practitioner and member of the Board of Directors of the Ghana National Gas Limited Company (GNGLC).
Mrs. Osei, known for her commitment to public service and democratic principles, is expected to offer insightful reflections on the legacy and relevance of President Mills’ leadership in today’s Ghana.
The event forms part of a series of activities aimed at honouring the life and contributions of the late president, whose calm leadership and emphasis on peace and national unity remain deeply etched in Ghana’s democratic journey.
