Samuel Armah AKA Kofi Nyan, the fisherman captured in a viral video sexually abusing a 13-year-old girl to pay off an Ghc 800 she allegedly stole from him has been sentenced to 10 years imprisonment.
Kofi Nyan is heard in the video telling the teenager ‘Me wcw ate ka. One hour biaa y3 Gh¢200’ during the act.
The incident took place in a ghetto at Mumford in the Central Region where the accused lured the victim to sexually assault her after accusing her of stealing GH₵800.
The Cape Coast Circuit Court 2 convicted Nyan, a father of nine after he pleaded guilty to the charge of defilement.
The presiding judge described the act as “shameful and inhumane,” stressing the need for deterrent sentences in cases involving minors.
According to prosecutors, investigations revealed that the victim only stole Ghc 60.
