Atwima Nwabiagya South MP Champions Breast Cancer Awareness and Community Development

The Member of Parliament for Atwima Nwabiagya South, Hon. Shirley Kyei, has emphasized the importance of breast cancer awareness and education in  constituencies across the country.

Contributing to a statement made by the 2nd Deputy Majority Chief Whip and member of parliament for Ada constituency, Honourable Doryo calling for a collective action,Hon. Kyei urged women to prioritize their health and encouraged them to support those affected by the disease.

In her passionate appeal, Hon. Kyei highlighted the need for community-based initiatives to promote breast health and provide support to those affected.

“We should be able to get out there and get the necessary support that we need,” she emphasized.

Beyond her advocacy on breast cancer, Hon. Kyei has been actively engaged in various development projects in her constituency. Recently, she commissioned a mechanized borehole at Kyereyase, providing clean water to residents and significantly improving their health and sanitation.

In addition to the borehole project, Hon. Kyei has distributed school supplies to over 500 students and provided relief items to vulnerable groups, including widows.

Her efforts demonstrate her commitment to improving the lives of her constituents.

Hon. Kyei’s dedication to her community has been recognized after she made history as the first female MP for Atwima Nwabiagya South, winning the seat with 73% of the valid votes cast.

As she continues to serve her constituents, Hon. Kyei remains focused on promoting development and addressing pressing issues, such as abandoned road projects, which she has also been vocal about.
