The National Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Mr. Johnson Asiedu Nketia, has commended constituency executives of the party in the Dome-Kwabenya Constituency for their pivotal role in securing a historic victory for the NDC in the 2024 general elections.
Mr. Asiedu Nketia paid tribute to the dedication and sacrifices of party structures at all levels, including polling station agents, ward coordinators, communicators, youth organisers, the constituency organiser, and the constituency chairman, describing their collective efforts as instrumental to the party’s success in both the presidential and parliamentary elections.
He made these remarks while addressing participants at the NDC Dome-Kwabenya Recognition and Awards Ceremony, organised by the Member of Parliament for the constituency, Hon. Elikplim Akurugu, on Thursday, January 9, 2025.
According to Mr. Asiedu Nketia, the NDC’s victory in Dome-Kwabenya would not have been possible without the strong grassroots mobilisation, commitment, and resilience demonstrated by the constituency executives throughout the campaign and on election day.
He explained that the awards ceremony was deliberately organised by the member of the Dome-Kwabenya constituency, Hon. Elikplim Agurugu to acknowledge the hard work of party executives and to motivate them to remain steadfast and hopeful under the new NDC administration.
Mr. Asiedu Nketia further assured party faithful that President John Dramani Mahama has not forgotten the efforts of hardworking and loyal executives who aspire to serve in various capacities within the government. He urged them to remain patient, stressing that due recognition and opportunities would come at the appropriate time.
He concluded by encouraging party members to maintain unity, discipline, and focus as the NDC begins its mandate, noting that continued grassroots support would be essential to the party’s success in governance.
