“Government Making Progress Despite Challenges” Sawla-Tuna-Kalba MP asserts

Member of Parliament for the Sawla-Tuna-Kalba constituency, Honourable Andrew Dari Chiwitey has expressed confidence in the government’s ability to deliver on its promises, despite acknowledging that the economy is under pressure.

Speaking in an exclusive interview with Daily Analyst in Parliament, the MP highlighted that the  implementation of the 24-hour economy initiative, such as the passport office’s round-the-clock operations and the government’s plans to construct 24-hour markets across the regions were all on course.

“We have delivered on several promises, including free tertiary education for people living with disabilities and payment of allowances for nurses and teachers,” the lawmaker said.

The legislator emphasized that implementing promises takes time and cited improvements in road construction, including work on the Kumasi road and the eastern corridor.

The MP also acknowledged the ongoing challenge of galamsey, but noted that efforts were being made to address it, including the recapture of some forests and clearing of water bodies.

“We are fighting galamsey gradually, and I believe that before the end of President Mahama’s term, we would have gotten to where we want to get to,” he said.

The MP urged Ghanaians to support the government in its efforts to tackle galamsey and other challenges.
