The Ghana Police Service has arrested a suspect in connection with a case of unlawful entry and stealing at Spintex in Accra.
The arrest follows a complaint lodged after a resident returned home from work at about 4:00 p.m. on March 4, 2026, only to discover that her house had been broken into.

An amount of GHS 1,000 and USD 22,350, along with other valuable personal effects, had been stolen.
Acting on intelligence, police arrested the suspect, Daniel Odai Afotey, at Labone Beach on March 11, 2026.

A subsequent search of his room led to the recovery of the stolen cash and other items. Police also retrieved several additional suspected stolen items, including gold watches, jewellery, mobile phones, and a television set.
During interrogation, the suspect allegedly admitted to the offence and identified an accomplice known only as “Ewonam,” who is currently on the run.

Police say efforts are underway to locate and arrest the accomplice.
The suspect is expected to be arraigned before the court on Monday, March 16, 2026.
Meanwhile, police say they are working to trace the rightful owners of the additional recovered items.

Members of the public who may have lost property under similar circumstances in Spintex, Teshie, Nungua, and surrounding areas are encouraged to contact the CID Headquarters to assist with identification.
