Easter Wellness Drive: Sosu Health Outreach Delivers Free Screening and Care to Hundreds in Madina

The Deputy CEO of the Sosu Health Project, Hon. Lovelace Bobobee Edzor who doubles as the Parliament of Ghana Health Projects Coordinator for Madina Constituency, has announced an Easter health outreach initiative spearheaded by the Office of the Member of Parliament, in partnership with the Limitless Hope Foundation.

The program is designed to address both the spiritual and physical well-being of community members, with a strong emphasis on accessible healthcare.

According to Hon. Edzor, the outreach focuses on comprehensive, holistic health screening. Services provided include tests for hepatitis B, thyroid conditions, prostate health, cholesterol levels, blood counts, and blood pressure, all accompanied by free medical consultations.

The initiative reflects a broader commitment by the MP’s office to strengthen primary healthcare delivery at the community level.

He explained that the outreach is rooted in the belief that proactive primary healthcare can significantly reduce the burden on hospitals and other health facilities.

By bringing essential services directly to the people, the program aims to promote early detection and prevention, ultimately improving overall public health outcomes.

So far, the exercise has served over 200 individuals, with activities continuing into the following day to accommodate more participants.

In addition to free screenings and consultations, attendees are also provided with meals, including breakfast and lunch, as well as essential medications at no cost.

Hon. Edzor also raised concern about the increasing prevalence of high blood pressure across all age groups, noting that it is no longer confined to the elderly.

He urged the residents of Madina to adopt healthier lifestyles by getting adequate rest, eating meals on time, avoiding late-night eating, and engaging in regular physical activity.

He further advised minimizing stress, including excessive arguments, as part of maintaining good health.

“The Easter outreach stands as a testament to the importance of community-centered healthcare interventions, combining medical support with practical guidance to help individuals lead healthier lives,” he stated.
