Madina MP Dr. Francis Xavier Sosu Extends Easter Outreach with Free Health Screening, Surgeries, and Medication Across Churches

The Member of Parliament for the Madina Constituency, Francis Xavier Sosu, has intensified his community health intervention efforts by rolling out a comprehensive free medical outreach across several churches in Madina as part of this year’s Easter celebrations.

During the Easter Holidays, Dr. Sosu directed the Sosu Health Outreach team to provide free health screening, minor surgeries, and essential medications to congregations in the area.

The initiative is aimed at improving access to primary healthcare while marking the climax of the Easter festivities with a strong focus on community welfare.

According to the Deputy Chief Executive of the Sosu Health Project, who also serves as the Parliamentary Health Projects Coordinator for the Madina Constituency, Hon. Lovelace Bobobee Edzor, the exercise is being carried out in collaboration with the Assemblies of God Church Madina Center.

He explained that the outreach aligns with one of Dr. Sosu’s key pillars, bringing primary healthcare services closer to the people.

The ongoing exercise features a wide range of medical services, including free eye screenings, ear, nose, and throat (ENT) consultations, blood grouping, glucose testing, and blood pressure checks.

Beneficiaries are also receiving free medications as part of the intervention. The exercise commenced from the Assemblies of God Church Madina central.

“We are undertaking a number of health services simultaneously to support the government’s primary healthcare objectives and to ensure that residents have access to essential medical care,” he noted.

He further revealed that the outreach builds on a similar exercise conducted just two weeks earlier, during which between 600 and 1,000 residents benefited from free eye screenings, medications, spectacles, and surgeries.

Describing the initiative as a continuation of that effort, he emphasized that the team is now expanding its reach by moving from one church to another across Madina, ensuring that as many residents as possible benefit from the free services.

“So far, we have attended to a significant number of people, and the exercise is still ongoing. Everything being provided under this outreach is completely free,” he added.

The Easter-themed outreach underscores Dr. Sosu’s commitment to community development and accessible healthcare, as his team continues to extend vital medical services to residents throughout the constituency.
