The Chief Justice of Ghana hosted a delegation from the Federation of Aboriginal Nations of the Americas for a courtesy call at the Judicial Service Administration Block on Thursday, 30th April 2026.

The meeting focused on strengthening cooperation between Ghana’s judiciary and the international indigenous body in areas of peacebuilding, security, and trade.

The engagement followed an official request submitted by FANA on 26th January 2026.

Confirmation of the Chief Justice’s availability was communicated in a letter dated 21st April 2026 from the Office of the Judicial Secretary following the official meeting.

The letter, signed by Justice Dr. Cyracus B. Bapuuroh, Deputy Judicial Secretary, stated that the meeting was scheduled on the directive of His Lordship.

Held at 12:00 noon in the Conference Room on the 3rd floor of the Judicial Service Administration Block, the courtesy call brought together FANA’s Ambassador for Trade and Commerce, Amb. Stephen Kojo Sackey and other delegates with senior officials of the Judicial Council.

The Chief Justice was represented by Justice Kweku Tawiah Ackaah-Boafo.

Discussions centered on the role of judicial institutions in promoting peace and conflict resolution. Both sides explored how partnerships between organizations like FANA and formal state institutions could reinforce systems that support justice and stability in diverse communities.

They noted that collaboration with Ghana’s judiciary could serve as a model for how traditional and formal systems can work together to advance social cohesion.
