In a heartfelt tribute, the Central Region’s representative on the Council of State, Hon. Hakeem Addae, laid a wreath at the Jubilee Flower Gardens to honour the eight individuals who tragically lost their lives in the recent military helicopter crash in the Ashanti Region.
Speaking during the solemn ceremony, Hon. Addae described the act as a national duty and a symbolic gesture on behalf of the people of the Central Region.
“It is with heavy hearts that we come together to honour the eight brave men who laid down their lives in service to Ghana.
This is not just a loss to their families, but to the entire nation,” he said.
He emphasized that the wreath-laying was more than just a ceremonial act — it was a powerful expression of the Central Region’s collective grief and unwavering solidarity with His Excellency John Dramani Mahama, the government, the bereaved families, and the entire nation.
“This gesture reflects our deep recognition of the ultimate sacrifice made by these gallant men.
They served with honour, and their memory deserves to be upheld with the same dignity,” he noted.
The ceremony concluded with a prayer for the fallen, as Hon. Addae wished them eternal rest.
“Rest in perfect peace, our eight fallen heroes. May Allah grant you eternal rest,” he said solemnly.
