We were Relying on the Integrity of the Law But…? Addy Frederick

 

Member of parliament for the Suaman Constituency of the Western Region, Mr. Addy Frederick has expressed disappointment at the officials of the Economic and Organized Crime Office (EOCO) for what he described as abuse of rights.

According to him, the rights of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP’s) Ashanti Regional Chairman, Mr. Bernard Antwi Boasiako had been rubbed on the mud due to politics, a situation, he bemoaned.

The Suaman lawmaker was speaking in an interview with some journalists at the forecourt of EOCO lamenting what he termed high-handedness by EOCO officials of Chairman Wontimi.

The first-time legislator underscored the need for the EOCO officials to note that their Ashanti Regional Chairman is also a Ghanaian therefore deserves a good treatment.

The lawmaker expressed his disappointment at the turn of events indicating that power is transient therefore would one day change hands.

He is calling for a revision of the bail sum of GHS50 million to enable him to meet the requirements for his freedom.

He is appealing to all and sundry to assist him meet the bail sum assuring that Chairman Wontimi would always present himself upon demand.

“Wontimi will be available. All we want for him is the bail. We have engaged the EOCO officials but all to no avail.
That explains why we, parliamentarians are here because we believe in the law”, the legislator underscored.

Chairman Wontimi was reported to have been picked up in manner the New Patriotic Party sympathizers described as “rambo style”, a manner not deserving of the Ashanti Regional Chairman of the major opposition party.
