The Sefwi Wiawso Municipal Chief Executive, Dominic Gyasi, is on a mission to put his municipality on the map.

With a rich history of cocoa production, Gyasi believes Sefwi Wiawso has what it takes to become a hub for economic activity.

To achieve this, he’s organizing the “Cocoa City” festival in November, an event that will showcase the area’s potential and attract investors.

Gyasi’s vision for Sefwi Wiawso goes beyond cocoa. He notes that the area is also a major producer of timber, but lacks the infrastructure to support the industry.

“We don’t have a wood village,” he says, “and that’s why we’re calling on the government to support us.”

However, Gyasi faces a significant challenge: the municipality’s poor road network.

Despite this, he’s determined to make the “Cocoa City” festival a success, and is counting on the support of local businesses, investors, and the government.
