Wassa East MP Affirms Government’s Commitment to Address Transportation Challenges

Government is moving forward with its bus procurement plans, with 300 buses expected to arrive in the country soon, Member of Parliament for Wassa East has said.

According to Honourable Isaac Adjei Mensah, 100 of these buses are slated to arrive by the end of the first quarter, with the remaining 200 to follow later.

The move is aimed at addressing the country’s transportation challenges and improving mobility for citizens.

However, questions have been raised about the type of buses being procured, with some wondering if they are electric (EVs) and environmentally friendly.

While the government has mentioned plans to incorporate EVs into its transportation fleet, it’s unclear if these 300 buses are part of that initiative.

Honourable Isaac Adjei Mensah says the priority is getting buses on the road to address pressing transportation needs.

The government committed to providing detailed information on the buses’ specifications, including their environmental impact.

As Ghana grapples with climate change and air pollution concerns, the type of buses being introduced will be a pertinent issue.

The MP further assured government’s to provide more information on its EV plans and how they fit into the country’s broader transportation strategy.

The arrival of these buses is eagerly anticipated, given the current transportation challenges in Ghana.

According to the legislator, government is working on distribution plans and maintenance infrastructure to ensure the buses are effectively utilized.
