Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the 2024 New Patriotic Party (NPP) presidential candidate, has donated GH¢100,000 to Bernard Mensah, a polling station officer in Mampoma, Twifo Atti-Morkwa constituency, who was severely injured in a near-fatal electrical accident.
Mr. Mensah sustained serious injuries while fixing street light bulbs on poles during the ongoing election campaign.
His recovery has required extensive medical treatment and rehabilitation, leaving him and his family in need of financial assistance.
To support him, Dr. Bawumia sent a delegation led by Percival Quaicoe, the Central Regional NPP Chairman, along with Regional Secretary Richard Takyi Mensah and Treasurer Francis Asare.
They presented the donation on behalf of the Vice President.

“Bernard’s selflessness, even at great personal risk, is a shining example of the patriotism that drives our party forward. We stand by him during this difficult time and will continue to support him as he recovers,” Quaicoe stated.
The GH¢100,000 donation is expected to cover Mr. Mensah’s medical expenses and provide relief to his family.
The gesture has been warmly received by both NPP members and the public, reinforcing the party’s commitment to supporting its people in times of need.
Mr. Mensah, expressing his deep gratitude, said, “I am truly thankful to His Excellency and the party for this generous support. It gives me hope and strength to continue my recovery. I remain committed to the NPP and will keep serving my community.”
The donation highlights Dr. Bawumia’s commitment to the welfare of party members and his appreciation for those who contribute to the success of the NPP. It also reflects the party’s ongoing efforts to ensure the well-being of those who sacrifice for its cause.
