Pastor Bonsu Newton, the founder and leader of Greate Foundation Chapel in Manso Koniase, tragically passed away today in a road accident.
The incident occurred between Adumposo Number 1 and Gyeduako Road in the Amansie South District of the Ashanti Region.
Reports indicate that Pastor Newton was traveling in an Aboboyaa (a motorized tricycle) loaded with 10 bags of cement when the vehicle collided with another.
The impact led to his death at the scene.
The Greate Foundation Chapel, under Pastor Newton’s leadership, has been a significant spiritual institution in the region.
His untimely demise has left the congregation and the local community in mourning.
Details surrounding the accident are still emerging, and authorities are expected to release an official statement soon.
This incident adds to a series of tragic accidents involving religious leaders in the Ashanti Region.
In August 2015, Pastor Moses Addai of the Assemblies of God Church in the Amansie West District lost his life in a head-on collision with a minibus.
The accident occurred when Pastor Addai attempted to overtake several vehicles and collided with an oncoming bus, resulting in his death and injuries to six others.
The community and church members are urged to remain vigilant on the roads and exercise caution to prevent such unfortunate events.
