Tragedy has struck the quiet community of Manso Deduako in the Amansie South District of the Ashanti Region, where a 75-year-old man, Ibrahim Laa, was found dead, believed to have been stabbed by unknown assailants.
According to Hon. Gyawu Emmanuel, the Assembly Member for the Gyeduako electoral area, the gruesome incident occurred on the evening of Wednesday around 7:30 p.m.
Residents were left in shock after discovering the lifeless body of the elderly man, a father of three, under mysterious and violent circumstances.
Speaking to the media, Mr. Emmanuel confirmed that swift action by the police has led to the arrest of one suspect, who is currently in custody at the Manso Adubia Police Station.
The individual is said to be assisting with ongoing investigations to determine the motive and circumstances surrounding the crime.
The body of Ibrahim Laa has since been conveyed to the Saint Martin’s Hospital at Manso Agroyesum, where a post-mortem examination will be conducted to confirm the cause of death.
This latest incident adds to growing concerns about community safety and rising violence in rural parts of the Ashanti Region. Residents are calling on authorities to increase police presence and improve security in the area.
