Mr. Pious Kwame Nkuah, the current Member of Parliament (MP) for Sefwi-Akontombra in the Western North Region, has publicly criticized his predecessor, Mr. Alex Tetteh Djornobuah, for allegedly overseeing the construction of substandard infrastructure projects in the constituency.
In an interview with a Parliamentary reporter, Mr. Nkuah revealed that an inventory exercise conducted in the area uncovered several abandoned and incomplete projects that were intended to enhance local infrastructure.
Among the identified projects are a six-unit classroom block and teachers’ quarters, which were contracted to JMPINMIC Construction Company—a firm believed to be owned by Mr. Djornobuah.
Describing the structures as dilapidated and unworthy of renovation, Mr. Nkuah expressed concerns about the misuse of public funds.
He emphasized that the projects, instead of serving their intended purpose, have become a waste of resources.
To address the issue, Mr. Nkuah announced plans to report the matter to the Social Investment Fund (SIF), the organization responsible for awarding the contracts, in an effort to seek accountability from the construction company.
He also vowed to collaborate with the people of Sefwi-Akontombra to ensure that the matter is properly resolved. This development adds to the ongoing scrutiny of infrastructure projects in the region.
Earlier, Mr. Nkuah’s predecessor, Mr. Djornobuah, faced criticism over allegations related to road contracts in the Akontombra district.
