At least 15 nurses sustained injuries on Wednesday morning following a road accident at Plaza Junction in Kumasi involving a commercial minibus (commonly known as a trotro) and a bus.
The trotro, with registration number AS 09840-108, was transporting the nurses from Sofa Line to an examination center when it collided with a bus bearing registration number GS 03743-22.

The bus was traveling from the Kumasi Airport Roundabout at the time of the incident.
Eyewitnesses say the trotro driver was speeding and crashed into the rear of the bus near the junction.
The impact caused severe damage to the front of the minibus and left the rear end of the bus visibly bent.

Three of the nurses, who were seated in the front row, reportedly sustained serious injuries, while the rest suffered various degrees of harm.
Emergency services responded promptly, and the injured were transported to nearby hospitals for treatment.
