District Chief Executive Officer(DCE) of the Asunafo North District of the Ahafo Region, Honourable Joseph Akparibo has given an assurance of entrenching food production within the district under the government’s agricultural programme.
The District,being an agrian enclave,Mr. Akparibo, indicated that he had instructed the District Agriculture officer to acquire over 250 acres of land for agricultural purposes.
He higighted readiness of farmers within the district to engage massively in rice production,maize farming,and other cereals as well as cocoa production while leveraging the government’s initiative to increase food production.
Additionally,the DCE disclosed that his outfit had acquired another land basically for poultry farms starting in 2026.
The DCE asserts that the assembly was working to complete all abandoned projects captured as legacy projects.
He enumerated secondary school projects, grains construction,6 unit toilet seater,model market facility funded by the World Bank.
He indicated the contractor’s resolve to move to site upon receiving funds from the world Bank.
“There is a university project at Akowdie which has also been abandoned which is funded by the Central government and am hoping that they will come back to site and complete it”, the DCE indicated.
