The Member of Parliament for Bia East, Honourable Richard Acheampong has hailed the country’s economic performance, citing significant gains in various sectors.
Speaking in Parliament on the 2026 budget statement delivered by Honourable Cassiel Ato Baah Forson, Hon. Acheampong attributed the success to the government’s prudent economic management, which has led to strong economic growth translating into falling inflation, and improved external buffers.
He cited an example of a US citizen who invested $10,000 and saw a significant return, highlighting the positive impact of the government’s policies on the economy.
“The Ghanaian people have accepted this budget, with an 82% approval rating,” Hon. Asante said.
“It’s a budget of hope, giving us inspiration and a sense of optimism about our economic future,”the Second Deputy Majority Whip said.
The MP urged support for the Minister of Finance to ensure the success of the budget, which has yielded several benefits, including:
The Bia East MP enumerated strong economic growth, falling inflation, improved external buffers, fiscal discipline, restored investor confidence, lower borrowing costs, debt reduction from 61% to 45%,social protection expansion, and the launch of the 24-hour economy policy as remarkable achievements.
Hon. Acheampong emphasized that the 24-hour economy policy is an ongoing initiative, not a standalone project, and urged Ghanaians to take advantage of the opportunities it presents.

Whereas a section of the MPs have praised the government for tailoring budget focus on social protection and economic growth, and is expected to have a positive impact on the lives of Ghanaians.
