The Medical Director of Pantang Hospital, Dr. Yennusom Maalug, has issued an urgent appeal to the government, the Ministry of Health, and corporate organizations to assist the facility following significant damage caused by a rainstorm on Monday night.
According to Dr. Maalug, the storm ripped off roofing from several key structures within the hospital, including the female VIP ward, the generator power room, and portions of the facility’s perimeter fence.

The destruction has left parts of the hospital exposed and vulnerable, disrupting both clinical operations and administrative functions.
He expressed concern that the damage is already affecting the hospital’s ability to deliver quality healthcare.
Patients are being treated under difficult conditions, while staff are struggling to work effectively in an unsafe and compromised environment.

“This situation is severely impacting patient care and the working conditions of our staff,” he noted, emphasizing the urgent need for intervention.
Dr. Maalug is therefore calling on relevant authorities and private sector partners to provide immediate support to restore the damaged infrastructure and ensure continuity of care.

The Unite Committee Chairman of the Pantang electoral area, Adeka Kwame Prosper, expressed deep concern about the escalating situation, describing it as very serious.

He passionately appealed to relevant authorities and security agencies to collaborate urgently and provide assistance to help resolve the issues at hand.
