The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for the La Nkwantanang Madina Municipal Assembly (LaNMMA), Ibrahim Fuseini Faila, has embarked on an inspection tour of key development projects across the municipality, highlighting significant progress in infrastructure within his first year in office.
The tour covered multiple project sites in Babayara, Pantang, and Oyarifa, including the construction of a clinic, nurses’ quarters, an 18-unit classroom block, teachers’ bungalow, and a mosque at Babayara.
At Pantang, the MCE inspected an 18-classroom block project with an integrated library and ICT centre, currently nearing completion.
The MCE hinted that with enough funds, he will transform Madina within six (6) months, as he called on the president, John Dramani Mahama to intervene so Madina can get its share of the ‘Big Push’.

Speaking during the tour, Hon. Faila expressed satisfaction with the pace and quality of work, describing the Pantang school project as one of the most significant educational investments in the municipality’s history.
He indicated that upon completion, the facility could be named a “Mahama School” or designated as a model school due to its standard.
“Looking at the structure and the level of development, by the grace of Almighty Allah, when we are done, this will be one of the best of its kind since the inception of the municipality,” he said.
The inspection also included a visit to a newly constructed three-storey zonal council office at Oyarifa, a flagship project initiated under his administration.

According to the MCE, the project reflects the Assembly’s commitment to decentralisation and improved local governance.
Hon. Faila noted that despite bureaucratic and budgetary constraints, his administration has made visible strides within less than a year.
He credited the progress to the leadership of President John Dramani Mahama and the support of the Member of Parliament for Madina, Dr. Francis Xavier Sosu.
He emphasized that development efforts are being distributed systematically across all 15 electoral areas within the municipality, ensuring that each community benefits from projects such as schools, clinics, roads and administrative facilities.

“Within just nine months to one year, you can clearly see the transformation. Every electoral area has at least one ongoing project,” he stated.
On road infrastructure, the MCE disclosed ongoing engagements with the Urban Roads Department to secure support for key routes, including the Danfa–Ayi Mensah corridor and the Pantang road, which he estimates is about 60 percent complete.
He noted that improving these roads would significantly enhance connectivity across several rapidly developing communities.
Hon. Faila further called for unity among residents and neighbouring municipalities, stressing that development should transcend political and administrative boundaries for the collective benefit of all Ghanaians.

“As we work to reset the country, it begins with our mindset and commitment to serving the people. Together, we can ensure sustainable development for future generations,” he added.
The MCE assured residents that most ongoing projects are between 80 and 85 percent complete and are expected to be fully completed in the coming months, reaffirming his administration’s commitment to delivering quality infrastructure across the municipality.
