The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for La Nkwantanang-Madina, Hon. Ibrahim Fuseini Faila, has distributed a range of vocational tools, provisions and equipment to 49 vulnerable persons living with disabilities (PWDs), enabling them to build sustainable sources of income and improve their livelihoods.
The intervention, carried out by the La Nkwantanang-Madina Municipal Assembly, saw beneficiaries receive items including refrigerators, hairdryers, stoves, gas cylinders, baking supplies, shoemaking machines, welding equipment, ovens, drilling machines, and assorted provisions.

The support is aimed at promoting self-reliance and reducing economic vulnerability among persons with disabilities.
Presenting the items on behalf of President John Dramani Mahama, the MCE indicated that the gesture responds directly to requests made by the beneficiaries for support in establishing sustainable means of living.
Speaking at the ceremony, Hon. Fuseini Faila stressed that the initiative aligns with the Assembly’s commitment to social inclusion and economic empowerment.

He explained that equipping persons with disabilities with practical tools for vocational work is a strategic approach to reducing dependency while promoting dignity and productivity.
“This intervention is designed to equip beneficiaries with the necessary resources to start or expand their own businesses.
By doing so, we are not only addressing immediate needs but also creating pathways for long-term economic independence,” he stated.

He further reaffirmed the Assembly’s resolve to continue supporting vulnerable populations, noting that similar initiatives will be sustained to ensure inclusive growth across the municipality.
Beneficiaries, visibly appreciative of the support, described the gesture as both timely and life-changing.
Many indicated that the equipment would allow them to either start new ventures or strengthen existing trades, thereby improving their income prospects.

The distribution highlights ongoing efforts by the Assembly to empower marginalized groups and foster inclusive socio-economic development within the municipality.
