Member of Parliament for Wa East, Dr. Godfred Seidu Jasaw, has pledged a full scholarship for the district’s best 2026 BECE candidate, covering Senior High School through tertiary education.
The package targets the overall top performer in Wa East who scores between an aggregate of 6 and 10 in the upcoming Basic Education Certificate Examination.
Dr. Jasaw said the move is aimed at removing financial barriers and rewarding academic excellence.

He announced the scholarship while touring Junior High Schools in the constituency to monitor mock exams he is personally sponsoring.
The annual exercise is designed to prepare final-year students and build confidence ahead of the national exams.
Dr. Jasaw also revealed plans to establish a committee to develop incentives for hardworking teachers across the district.
“Teacher motivation is critical to sustaining Wa East’s strong academic record,” he told students and staff. “Our educators are the backbone of the constituency’s consistent performance.”
The MP urged candidates to use the mock exams and revision period effectively, adding that the scholarship should motivate them to aim beyond average results.

He was joined on the tour by Wa East DCE Hon. Adamu Sayibu, District Education Director, and NDC constituency executives.
The DCE and MP both commended teachers for their dedication and called for continued commitment to quality instruction.
The twin interventions, the full scholarship and proposed teacher rewards, form part of Dr. Jasaw’s push to strengthen education in Wa East by investing in both top students and the teachers who guide them.
