New Patriotic Party (NPP) National Chairman hopeful Boakye Agyarko has held talks with former Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia as he prepares to launch a nationwide campaign tour in pursuit of the party’s top organisational role.
NPP National Chairman aspirant Boakye Agyarko has paid a courtesy call on former Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the party’s 2024 flagbearer, as part of strategic consultations ahead of his bid for the position.

The meeting, held on May Day, offered Mr. Agyarko the opportunity to commend Dr. Bawumia for his service to both the party and the country, describing his contributions as dedicated and impactful.
Discussions also centred on the future direction of the NPP and early preparations towards the 2028 general elections, with both men underscoring the importance of party cohesion.

Mr. Agyarko, who was accompanied by members of his campaign team, formally informed Dr. Bawumia of his intention to embark on a nationwide tour to engage party stakeholders as he seeks to become National Chairman.
He reaffirmed his support for Dr. Bawumia and stressed the need for unity within the NPP to enhance its chances of electoral success in 2028.

As part of his campaign rollout, Mr. Agyarko is expected to begin his tour in the Ashanti Region next week, where he will meet regional executives, grassroots members, and other stakeholders to outline his vision for strengthening the party.
