Ahafo Ano South West MP Targets Regional BECE Best Student, Pledges Full Support

Member of Parliament for Ahafo Ano South West, Elvis Dapaah Mensah optimistic that the overall best BECE candidate for the Ashanti Region will come from his constituency this year.

In the foregoing, he is pledging full support to whoever achieves such a feat.

Engaging candidates at the start of the Basic Education Certificate Examination, the MP urged them to remain calm and approach the papers with confidence.

He advised them to draw on what they have been taught in class rather than succumb to fear or anxiety.

“This is not different from what you were taught in the classroom,” Hon. Dapaah told the students.

“The questions will be about what you know and have learned,” he added.

His message was aimed at boosting the students’ morale as they sit for the exams.

The lawmaker assured that he would personally back the top-performing pupil with all necessary resources, including feeding, learning materials, and other school requirements.

He said the student would lack nothing throughout their academic journey.

In a personal commitment, Hon. Dapaah said he would drive the student from home to school on the first day of reporting if the goal is achieved.

The gesture, he explained, is meant to show his dedication to education in the constituency.

He referenced a similar promise made during the WASSCE, when he initially offered a car to the best student.

The family instead requested a full educational scholarship, which he granted. That student is now in level 200 at the university.

According to the MP, the initiative is part of his broader vision to raise educational standards in Ahafo Ano South West. He emphasized that education is key to personal development and has lasting positive effects on society.
