Member of Parliament for Madina, Hon. Dr. Francis-Xavier Sosu, has reaffirmed his commitment to supporting vulnerable elderly persons through an ongoing compassion outreach initiative aimed at identifying and assisting aged individuals battling illness and hardship in their homes.

According to the Madina MP, Dr. Francis Xavier Sosu, “we are still on our Compassion Outreach, tracking and tracing very elderly people who are not well in their rooms.

And these are people who used to be very, very active politically. Some are party people, some are not necessarily party people.”

During a compassionate outreach on Monday, May 25, the legislator explained that the initiative seeks to reconnect with elderly members of the community, particularly those who may have been forgotten despite their years of public service and political participation.

“What we’re doing is reaching out to them. First of all, paying a visit and reaching out to them in terms of either whatever support you can give them for medical or for whatever support you can give them. Let’s go for those who are not well,” he stated.

Dr. Sosu noted that the outreach is driven by compassion and a sense of responsibility to ensure that elderly citizens receive the care, attention, and support they deserve, especially in times of ill health and economic difficulty.

The Compassion Outreach programme has reportedly been engaging with vulnerable residents across the constituency, providing medical assistance, welfare support, and emotional care to those in need.

The initiative has been praised by some community members as a humane effort to restore dignity and hope to elderly persons who may feel neglected.
