The Founder and President of Save The Nation For Future Leaders (STNFL), Mr. Kwadwo Atta Apeakorang, has petitioned the Chief Justice to probe alleged procedural irregularities and abuse of judicial process at the Adenta Circuit Court 2.
In a petition dated July 23, 2026, Mr. Apeakorang alleged that while his matrimonial dispute with his wife is pending before the Bortianor District Court, the Adenta Circuit Court 2 has gone ahead to issue substantially similar orders in respect of the same matter.
He said his legal counsel duly notified the Adenta court of the earlier proceedings at Bortianor, expecting the court to consider issues of jurisdiction, duplication of suits and judicial comity before proceeding.
According to the petition, despite the notification, the Adenta Circuit Court 2, presided over by Judge Sarah Nyarkoa Nkansah, continued with the case and issued orders similar to those already made by the Bortianor District Court.
Mr. Apeakorang said he has fully complied with all orders from the Bortianor court and expressed concern about the duplication.
He argued that the development undermines established judicial principles on pending proceedings, consistency in judicial administration and the avoidance of conflicting orders, with the potential to erode public confidence in the justice delivery system.
The petitioner stressed that his action was not intended to undermine the authority or independence of the Judiciary.
“It is precisely because of my respect for the institution that I consider it necessary to bring these concerns to your attention,” he stated in the petition addressed to the Chief Justice at the Supreme Court Complex in Accra.
Mr. Apeakorang is praying the Chief Justice to thoroughly examine the matter and take any administrative or disciplinary action deemed appropriate under the Judicial Service’s constitutional mandate.
He expressed confidence that intervention by the Chief Justice would reinforce public trust in Ghana’s justice system.
Copies of the petition have also been sent to the President, the Speaker of Parliament, the Attorney-General and Minister for Justice, the National Security Coordinator, the Director-General of the Bureau of National Investigations, and the Registrar of Adenta Circuit Court 2.
The Judicial Service is yet to comment on the petition.
