NDC Kpone Katamanso chairmanship aspirant, Haruna Mahama, has pledged to recognise and reintegrate former executives who have been neglected after leaving office.
He said there is no party law that bars members who lose elections from continuing to serve in other capacities, yet that has been the practice in the constituency.
Mahama observed that once executives leave office, nobody wants to have anything to do with them,a matter,he described as unfortunate and alien to the National Democratic Congress(NDC).
He clarified,”it is their tenure of office that has ended,but that does not mean,he they can not be useful.”
He contrasted the situation with the regional level, where persons who lost elections have been appointed to committees and still play active roles and that’s commendable.
He said his leadership when elected,will identify such former officers, encourage them with roles to play.
Haruna Mahama added that former branch chairmen, secretaries and constituency executives will be publicly acknowledged at party programmes.
According to him, this recognition will restore the spirit of belonging that has been currently lacking.
He said bringing back experienced hands will be key to rebuilding unity and a stronger party in Kpone Katamanso.
