NDC chairmanship aspirant for Kpone Katamanso, Haruna Mahama, has promised to prioritise job creation and economic support for party members if elected.
Speaking in an interview, Mahama said division and deprivation of job opportunities remain major problems in the constituency.
He said leadership is about service, explaining that leaders must actively seek jobs for their people since that’s the main reason for their votes.
Mr. Mahama however explained that not everyone needs company jobs, indicating some members only need small financial support to start a business.
The aspirant cited a recent case of a woman who approached him needing only 500 cedis to establish a business to cater for her children.
Mahama said the party must support members financially, educationally and in securing handy jobs.
He announced plans to form a job seeking committee solely responsible for scouting for jobs for the youth in companies within and beyond the constituency.
Such interventions, the aspirant stated will encourage party members and sustain their spirit of sacrifice, especially when the party is in government.
