The Greater Accra Regional Police Command has intercepted an ambulance suspected of being used for drug trafficking in Labadi, a suburb of Accra.
Upon inspection, authorities discovered the vehicle was transporting 700 parcels and 473 wrappers of substances believed to be cannabis.
The use of an emergency medical vehicle in this illicit operation has raised significant concern among law enforcement officials and the public.
According to preliminary police reports, the ambulance was not on an emergency run at the time of interception.
Investigations are currently underway to determine the source and intended destination of the contraband, as well as to identify and prosecute those involved.
The Ghana Police Service has reaffirmed its commitment to cracking down on drug trafficking networks, particularly those exploiting state resources or disguising criminal activities under the guise of emergency services.
Further updates will be provided as the investigation unfolds.
