Police Arrest Alleged Fake Soldier Over Attempted Sale of Weapons at Kasoa

An alleged fake soldier, Warrant Officer Class II (WO II) Enoch Appiah, has been arrested at Kasoa for allegedly attempting to sell weapons to undercover police officers.

Police sources say they received intelligence that Appiah was seeking buyers for assault rifles reportedly in his possession.

Acting on the tip-off, officers tracked him to his hideout in an uncompleted building at the Nurses Quarters, a community at Domeabra, where he was said to be living with his three wives.

The suspect was apprehended after officers tactically positioned themselves at the location.

A search of the premises led to the discovery of two pistols—a Beretta and a Taurus—as well as three rounds of AK-47 ammunition. Police also retrieved a fake identity card bearing the name WO II Enock Appiah, along with several military uniforms.

Investigations are ongoing to determine how the suspect acquired the weapons and military attire, and whether he is linked to a wider criminal network.
