PIAC, DACF Strengthen Collaboration to Enhance Accountability in Use of Petroleum Revenues

The Public Interest and Accountability Committee (PIAC) on Tuesday, January 20, 2026, paid a courtesy call on the management of the District Assemblies Common Fund (DACF) in Accra to engage on issues of transparency, accountability, and the effective use of petroleum revenues at the local level.

The meeting formed part of PIAC’s broader efforts to deepen collaboration with key stakeholders involved in the management and disbursement of public funds, particularly petroleum revenues allocated for local development.

During the engagement, discussions focused on strengthening oversight mechanisms and ensuring that petroleum-derived resources channelled through the DACF are utilised prudently to deliver tangible development outcomes for communities across the country.

PIAC emphasised that enhanced cooperation among institutions remains critical to promoting accountability and ensuring that petroleum revenues are managed in a manner that benefits all citizens.
