Three persons, including a 22-year-old woman, have been arrested in connection with the alleged kidnapping of a 25-year-old woman in Kumasi in the Ashanti Region.
The suspects — Christiana Nyarko, 22; Justice Arhin, 24; and Samuel Jackitey, 23 — were apprehended at Tanoso, a suburb of Kumasi, following investigations into the incident.
According to preliminary information, the trio allegedly abducted the victim, identified as Winefred Asieduwaa, in early February 2026.
She is said to have been held hostage for about a week at a concealed location in Tanoso while the suspects reportedly demanded a ransom for her release.
Security sources indicate that the arrest followed intelligence-led operations, though details of how the victim was rescued or how the suspects were tracked down have not yet been fully disclosed.
The suspects are expected to be arraigned before court to face charges related to kidnapping and unlawful detention.
Police have reiterated their commitment to combating kidnapping and other violent crimes in the region, urging members of the public to remain vigilant and report suspicious activities to law enforcement authorities.
