Face Life Without Fearing Critics – Sunyani West MP Urges Students

Member of Parliament for Sunyani West, Hon. Millicent Yeboah Amankwah, has urged students to face life with seriousness and determination instead of relying excessively on the support of others.

Addressing a group of law students who visited her in Parliament, the lawmaker shared personal experiences from her own journey.

Using her own story to encourage the students, she urged that they build resilience and confront challenges head-on, stressing that personal effort remains key to long-term success.

Hon. Amankwah expressed concern about a growing trend among young people who use the absence of parental guidance as an excuse for setbacks.

“Far too often, individuals utilize the absence of parental guidance as an excuse for perceived failures and setbacks in their lives,” she observed, calling on students to reject that mindset.

She appealed to the students to turn adversity into motivation for their ambitions.

According to her, a successful and fulfilling future is possible through hard work, dedication, and a positive mindset, regardless of background or circumstances.

The Sunyani West MP also advised the students to make productive use of the internet, encouraging them to explore online opportunities to generate income rather than spending time on less productive activities that add little value to their financial growth or personal development.

Hon. Amankwah’s message forms part of her ongoing efforts to mentor and inspire youth in her constituency.

She said empowering students with the right attitude and skills is critical to building a generation that can contribute meaningfully to national development.
