Minister of State in Charge of Government Communications, Mr. Felix Kwakye Ofosu, has issued a stern warning to Rev. John Ntim Fordjour.
According to Mr Ofosu, the Ranking Member on Parliament’s Interior and Defence Committee, Rev. John Ntim Fordjour will face arrest if he fails to honor an invitation from the National Intelligence Bureau (NIB) for investigations into allegations of suspicious flights in Ghana.
Speaking on Citi FM’s Eyewitness News, Mr. Kwakye Ofosu dismissed Fordjour’s claim that he was never invited, emphasizing that the invitation was sent through his leader, Alexander Afenyo-Markin.
Despite Fordjour’s initial agreement to facilitate his appearance, he later insisted that he had spoken in his capacity as a member of the Defence and Intelligence Committee rather than as an individual.
Mr. Ofosu asserted, “If he says he was not invited, it is not true. The NIB has written to the Speaker and asked for his release for investigation.
He will go. If he doesn’t, they will arrest him, and when he does, he should present the stories he is telling.”
He also criticized Fordjour for making unsubstantiated claims regarding two aircraft allegedly transporting drugs and money into the country.
“The last thing an MP should be doing is peddling such childish lies. They are not just lies; they are childish. How do you claim such things without providing a shred of evidence?” he remarked.
Mr. Ofosu accused Fordjour of using Parliament as a tool for propaganda, stating,
“He is engaging in childish propaganda. Lies that do not make any sense. If there was any evidence, he would have presented it before anyone invited him.”
The case remains under investigation, with growing pressure on Fordjour to provide evidence or retract his claims.
