The leadership of the National Seed Trade Association of Ghana (NaSTAG), comprising President Dr. Amos Rutherford Azinu, Board Member Mr. Andrew Nii Adjietey, Executive Secretary Mr. Clifford Amoah Adagenera, and Finance Officer Mr. Prince Darko, recently met with Mr. Eric Opoku, Minister of Food and Agriculture, and his team.
The meeting also included the Deputy Minister, Mr. John Dumelo; the Technical Adviser to the Minister, Mr. Kwasi Etu-Bonde; and the Chief Director of the Ministry, Mr. Paul Siameh.
The primary focus of the meeting was to discuss strategic collaboration on the Feed Ghana program.
During the discussions, NaSTAG reaffirmed its readiness to contribute to the Feed Ghana program, exploring collaborative strategies to enhance Ghana’s food security.
This engagement underscores the government’s commitment to partnering with the Ghana seed industry to address critical agricultural challenges and promote sustainable agricultural practices.
The Minister, Mr. Eric Opoku, expressed confidence in the potential impact of the partnership on Ghana’s agricultural productivity and self-sufficiency goals.
He emphasized that this collaboration is an important step toward strengthening public-private cooperation within the seed sector as the country works toward achieving sustainable food systems.
NaSTAG extended its gratitude to Minister Mr. Eric Opoku, MP, for the invitation to the meeting.
The association also thanked Chief Director Mr. Paul Siameh for promptly arranging the meeting, Deputy Minister Mr. John Dumelo for his warm reception, and Technical Adviser Mr. Kwasi Etu-Bonde for his valuable insights during the discussions.
