Two men have been arrested by the Central East Regional Police after being caught unloading a massive quantity of what police believe to be marijuana in Nyanyano, a community in the Gomoa East District.
The suspects, 30-year-old Eric Nkyeke and 28-year-old Francis Klu, were caught in the act while removing packages from a Toyota Hilux pickup truck, registered GS 6849-21.
According to authorities, they had in their possession 519 tightly wrapped parcels containing dried leaves suspected to be Indian hemp.

The arrest was made as part of ongoing efforts by the regional police to clamp down on drug trafficking in the area.
The seized packages have been taken for further testing to confirm the substance, while the suspects remain in custody to assist with investigations.
Police say they are also working to determine the source and intended destination of the drugs, and whether the suspects are part of a larger trafficking network.
