Heavy-duty earthmoving equipment by security agencies contributes to the destruction of roads-MCE for Bawku reveals

The Municipal Chief Executive of Bawku Municipality of the Upper East Region, Honourable Isaac Azonaba, revealed that security agencies’ continous use of heavy-duty tracks accounts for the massive destruction of roads networks within the enclave.

The MCE made the disclosure in an interview with the media in Parliament  calling residents to give peace a chance to engender steady development.

Though he indicated the enclave had been enjoying seeming peace from terrifying gunshots in the last three months, he hoped the situation gets better to ensure life returns to normalcy.

With majority of residents being largely farmers, the MCE highlighted the need for government interventions to support farmers with tools and machinery to fully engage the youth emphasizing that the enemy finds work for the idle hand.

Honourable Azonaba is advocating for the provision of irrigation dams farm input in order to utilize the potentials of the area.

“Myself as a farmer, am leading a campaign so that we can enough vegetables, such as onions and tomatoes in stop or limit the importation,”Honourable Azonaba challenged.

The MCE further underscored the need for health facilities to cater for the health needs of the people of Bawku.
