The Criminal Investigations Department (CID) of the Ghana Police Service has arrested a man who was featured in a viral Facebook video where he was physically assaulting a woman believed to be his wife.
The incident took place at their residence in Ofankor, located in the Ga East Municipality.
The suspect, identified as John Odartey Lamptey, was apprehended on Monday, November 17, 2025, at his family home.
Following his arrest, two of his siblings, Grace Kushie Lamptey and Louis Odartey Lamptey, were also taken into custody for attempting to attack a female tenant who they suspected of recording and sharing the video.
The tenant was rescued to ensure her safety.
Efforts are currently underway to locate and ensure the safety of the suspect’s wife, who fled the scene before the police arrived.
