The Eastern North Regional Police Command has conducted a successful intelligence-led operation at Kwahu Nkwatia, leading to the arrest of three suspects and the retrieval of suspected narcotic drugs and ammunition.
The operation, carried out on Tuesday, 16 December 2025, targeted known drug peddling spots and criminal hideouts within Nkwatia Township and its surrounding communities.

At Kwayeano, a suburb of Nkwatia, police carried out a meticulous cordon-and-search exercise, which resulted in the recovery of forty-six (46) wraps of dried leaves suspected to be narcotic drugs.
The operation later moved to an estate near the Nkwatia SDA School, where two suspects—Kwame Asomani, aged 27, and Kwasi Dwamena, aged 25—were arrested in possession of quantities of dried leaves suspected to be narcotic drugs.

At Aduamoah, another suspect, Kwadwo Ofori, aged 45, was arrested for possessing ten (10) rounds of BB ammunition without lawful authority.
All three suspects are currently in police custody and are assisting with investigations.

The retrieved exhibits have been secured and will undergo forensic analysis as part of ongoing investigations.
