A 35-year-old man, Mujaheed Suraj, has been arrested in connection with the shooting of two people during the 2024 General Elections at Kasoa Zongo.
According to police sources, the suspect allegedly fired shots indiscriminately in the area, injuring two individuals and damaging a parked pickup vehicle.
The incident caused panic among residents and voters at the time of the elections.
During interrogation, the suspect reportedly admitted to firing the weapon and acknowledged ownership of a pump-action gun.
However, he was unable to produce valid legal documentation for the firearm.
The injured victims are receiving medical treatment, while the suspect remains in police custody to assist with ongoing investigations.
He is expected to be arraigned before court as police continue to probe the circumstances surrounding the incident.
