The Public Interest and Accountability Committee (PIAC), in partnership with the Natural Resource Governance Institute (NRGI), has convened a technical roundtable to deliberate on the use, protection and oversight of Ghana’s petroleum funds.
The engagement brought together key stakeholders to examine emerging proposals concerning the Ghana Heritage Fund (GHF) and the Ghana Stabilisation Fund (GSF), with particular focus on their fiscal sustainability and governance implications.
Participants discussed the need to safeguard Ghana’s long-term petroleum savings framework while enhancing transparency and accountability in the management of the funds.
The dialogue also explored strategies to strengthen the country’s sovereign wealth architecture as part of broader efforts to promote sustainable development.
Stakeholders at the roundtable outlined actionable recommendations aimed at ensuring petroleum revenues are prudently managed to address present development needs without compromising the interests of future generations.
The meeting forms part of ongoing efforts by PIAC and its partners to promote responsible resource governance and reinforce public confidence in the management of Ghana’s petroleum revenues.
